Device Database Release Notes

Introduction

The Device Database represents data for the general programming applications. The general programming applications are used by advanced programming applications such as D3Pro and SystemBuilder.

General Notes and Issues

• Version: 55.05.04: DMB-I-S/S2 and DMB-O-S/S2 blade joins (e.g., video feedbacks) will not function properly with this database release. This will be corrected in an upcoming firmware release. Joins that enable core functionality (e.g., video routing) are part of the DMB-CPU blade and are not affected.

Detailed explanation:

In the past, SIMPL Windows treated all of Crestron’s “generic input” ports as the same. That is, it didn’t distinguish between a Versiport and, say, the inputs on the PAC2M (which only accept a dry contact). The result was that tools like D3 Pro and SB would allow the user to place Crestron's occupancy sensors onto ports that physically could not support them.

This change in this version of the Device Database should fix the problem, where now devices should be better matched to the input ports.

Crestron's occupancy sensors should now only be allowed to drop onto Versiports, or other ports designed specifically for them (e.g. the occupancy sensor inputs on the GLPAC).

Note: For the "Versiport and Digital I/O ports" changes to work properly Crestron Database v.30.00.001 and up is required.
