Custom Macro style programming dialog for events, keypads, touch screens. Includes global macros, variable editor, scheduler, as well as assigning device commands, conditionals, delays, etc. Visual callout programming dialog in Core 3 Designer.

Full content of Device and Crestron databases is imported and available. Device Updates are also available for beta devices. Within a few weeks, you'll be able to install data updates by product line instead of always performing a full install.
Faceplate Designer

Microsoft hot fix: http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/KB2484841/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=5583. Fixes a problem with extreme slowdowns in performance. The install should be checking for this and telling you if you need it. Without going in to technical details, it's an internal WPF problem, often triggered by pop-up windows, such as menus.
Toolbox 2.34.065 or later. If you go to Build and Upload View,Toolbox is used during the Configure Network and Upload steps. In addition, there’s a Toolbox Address Book embedded in each CDS system, which Toolbox needs to manage.
MC3 firmware version 1.002.0009 for MC3 (since we are tagging the compiler as CDS instead of SIMPL).
Core 3 UI Controls 1.0.12.08 or later
SIMPL Windows 3.11.20: You MUST use this version to save/compile any modules for import into Design Studio. Do not use SMW 4.xx yet.
Included Data
The included data represents currently shipping Device and Crestron databases (9/24/2012). There are beta device updates that are separately installable that represent other devices currently in pre-release testing.
This version adds support for Bacnet and Fusion EM devices.
Known Issues
Install
There is a form for filling out customer information that comes up the first time you install CS. It is used when engravings are sent in, and also to label any logging data that would be used to debug problems. Sometimes this window comes up behind other windows and the install appears to be locked up. Bring up the windows and fill in the data.
An issue with new symbol fonts for engraving panels may cause multiple error messages to appear during the installation. The messages refer to Adobe Distiller or to updating Adobe Acrobat. Keep pressing okay, up to 15 or 20 times, and the install will succeed. The fonts will be altered to avoid this soon.
Crestron Studio
Crestron Studio may not run on a workstation that already has SQL Server installed. If your workstation already runs SQL Server, we would recommend using CS on another system until this has been resolved. If it is still desired to run CS on such a system, you will likely have to uninstall SQL Server, and then reinstall CS (which will then install the SQL Server 2008 Express included with CS).
You must run as administrator for now, due to some issues with the Microsoft signing dll, capicom.dll, which will be fixed soon. Toolbox 2.34.065 removes its own requirement to run as administrator.
IMPORTANT: Crestron Studio has been locked down to prevent data changes from altering the program while actively building it on the Build Screen.
If you encounter an exception during program generation, save your system, close CS. Then re-start CS and try again. There are still a few memory issues that need to be fixed.
If you use the overall application menu to jump-to a designer, it may not work. The F8 jump-to key and CTL-1 do work.
There is a new 50 character limitation on the local portion of a file name that has been recently added – it’s working correctly for newly created systems, but you are allowed to give an exported system a name greater than 50 characters, and then it fails to import (unless you manually rename it to be shorter than 50 characters).
There is an update issue with the BASE install that will be fixed shortly, so we are recommending the use of the FULL install. If new code in the BASE install requires a new database schema, the data must be installed first, and then the code can be installed. Crestron would need to tell you that a package install error results from this problem. The workaround is to then to reinstall a version of Crestron Studio that does not require the data schema update, install a package that will force the data schema update, then reinstall the originally intended version of Crestron Studio.
Importing and Exporting user IR files: Please use only one IR file with a given manufacturer and model number, until a bug is resolved.
Program Designer
If you reference a user SIMPL+ lib in a user SIMPL+ module, it must be in your user folder prior to compile or there will be an error.
Core 3 UI Designer
There are a number of issues with the Core 3 Controls 1.12 version, which represents a merging of the version used by CS and by VTPro. E.g. segmented gauges are broken - feedback works but they can not be touched. Please watch for a new version.
There are outstanding issues with the “Weather” and "Standard International" themes that are still being addressed. We would not advise using these themes at this time.
Faceplate Designer
Please avoid changing faceplate colors until an exception with the Configuration Gallery is resolved.
Future Changes
Work on optimizing speed and disk space is underway and far from complete.
We are still putting the finishing touches on the user interface. Please let us know if there are specific issues you’d like us to address.
Visuals for keypads and faceplates are still being added. We do not yet support sending engraving to Crestron. Please use the existing Engraver software to place real orders.
There are still memory leaks which will cause memory usage to build up over time, and these are being worked on. Re-start CS to free any built-up memory.
