How 70R-Series Touch Screens Make it Easier to Deploy Crestron Home
The new 70R-Series touch screens ship with Crestron Home natively embedded. This means you no longer need to go into setup mode or connect to the web interface to initiate the flip to Crestron Home. Plus, these new touch screens natively support the Sonos® S2 app, which makes deploying audio distribution a snap. They also support Crestron Home Extensions, which enable seamless control of third-party systems that are not yet native to Crestron Home, such as smart appliances, irrigation systems, and weather stations.

I have assisted in my fair share of Crestron Home™ software deployments. It’s how I know that connecting TSW-x60 touch screens to a Crestron Home control system was very easy. Incredibly, our engineering team has made the process even easier with the new 70R-Series Crestron Home touch screens.

70R-Series touch screens also feature Wi-Fi® communication, so it’s easier to install them where you want. When they initially boot up, the touch screen prompts you with the option to connect to a wireless network. You no longer need to worry about running control cables. Simply connect via POE+ and place tabletop touch screens on bedside nightstands or living room end tables.

Our new line of Crestron Home touch screens is not only more flexible and easier to deploy, but also more beautiful than the 60-Series models, boasting higher resolution displays and sleeker bezels:

  • 10-inch models have 125% more pixels with an 18% smaller footprint
  • 7-inch models have 66% more pixels and a 22% smaller footprint
  • 5-inch models have 77% more pixels and a 27% smaller footprint

The five-inch wall mount touch screen is available as a traditional landscape display and is also available as a portrait display (TSW-570P-R). This is unique to Crestron Home and is perfect for small spaces, such as bathrooms and hallways. All 70R-Series touch screens are priced lower than 60-Series models, so these 5-inch portrait models are a great upgrade from push-button keypads.

70R-Series comes loaded with an array of new features as well as existing favorites.

  • Proximity sensor to wake touch screen (NEW)
  • RAVA® SIP intercom and phone functionality
  • Streaming video

Things to keep in mind

  • 70R-Series touch screens can only run Crestron Home
  • For custom projects or more flexibility in the future, use 70-Series touch screens
  • The 570R and 570P-R touch screens do not include a speaker or microphone

As Crestron Home continues to expand and add features, all the touch screens will automatically update the embedded Crestron Home application, allowing you to implement new features without remaking and reloading the graphics. These new touch screens are a welcome addition to our lineup and will continue to provide capabilities needed for Crestron Home deployments.
