Best Design Meets Technology Award
This honor considers the marriage of a ship’s unique aesthetic and the solutions aboard that vessel: How does the technology blend in? How does it simply disappear where it needs to? How does it enhance the space with lighting or specific display functions?
Liquid Automation achieved those results — and more:
Since this yacht was used for both charter and private use, the client required a system that could seamlessly adjust the AV environment to match each mode. To achieve this, we implemented a centralized mode selection system, accessible from both the Crew Mess and Bridge touch panels. This allowed the crew to switch between private and charter modes with a single command.
That functionality included:
Apple TV® media extender profile switching, toggling between two centralized stacks of Apple TV media extenders: one preloaded with the owner’s personal accounts for private mode and another configured with ship-wide accounts for charter use.
Custom media library switching: In private mode, the system provides access to the owner’s videos. In charter mode, it switches to a dedicated commercial video library, ensuring a more guest-friendly selection.
Personalized audio profiles, leveraging DM NAX amplifiers that allow the system to prioritize the owner’s hometown stations in private mode while offering a broader selection for charter guests.
Liquid Automation “also offered an intuitive interface to control the user's environment from lighting, blinds, and ceiling louvers to a custom stabilized high-power PTZ camera mounted at the top of the mast.”
