Plug and deploy

The PC4-R is a powerful Dell® microcomputer with the Crestron Home OS pre-installed. While it may look different, the PC4-R functions exactly like all our other Crestron Home processors! Secured and ready for operation out of the box, it’s the same hardware as our VC-4-PC-3, currently being used successfully in commercial applications, running thousands of rooms.

Any size deployments

The PC4-R supports the largest Crestron Home installations. The maximum system size is identical to that of the CP4-R:

  • 300 lighting loads

  • 120 keypads

  • 100 shades

  • 56 speaker zones

  • Does this unit require licenses or Linux knowledge to get working?
    No, you plug it in and it functions exactly like any other Crestron Home processor.
  • Is this unit like the VC-4-PC-3 and VC-4?
    In some ways, yes, but fundamentally no. The PC4-R requires no licenses and instead functions exactly like any other Crestron Home processor right out of the box.
  • Can I connect any monitor, keyboard, or mouse and run the setup app on the unit?
    No, the units are locked down and all ports, except USB, on the unit are disabled.
  • Does the unit work with Toolbox?
    Yes, the PC4-R works with all tools found in Toolbox.
  • Does the unit have an IR, Relay, IO, COM or Cresnet® port?
    No, you will need additional Crestron products for these applications.
  • Can I migrate a config from an existing processor to a PC4-R?
    Yes.
  • How do you restore or remove credentials on the PC4-R?
    It will require a USB stick plugged into the unit with a file formatted for both restoring and clearing the credentials. The full steps will be detailed in the documentation.
