Crestron Previews the Future of Enterprise Building Management & Control at LIGHTFAIR® 2015

Crestron Fusion™ “Site View” Provides Interactive 3D Building Model For Easier Navigation & Troubleshooting

LIGHTFAIR® International, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, will showcase the future of lighting solutions May 5-7 at New York’s Javits Center®. At the show, Crestron will preview “Site View,” a soon-to-be-released new feature within Crestron Fusion Enterprise Management software, providing complete 3D building visualization leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM) for the most robust and intuitive management software on the market. With the addition of Site View, users can now take advantage of the rich data and visualization made possible by (BIM). Starting with an Autodesk® Revit® model, Crestron Fusion enables interaction with a 3D model of our customers’ buildings within a web browser, all without any third-party software or browser plug-ins. Now users can easily navigate, monitor, and control their building, individual rooms and floors, using a physical representation of the building, making it easier than ever to identify and correct problems as soon as they occur.

Crestron Fusion Enterprise Management Software enables customers to monitor and control the technology in their building from a single location. This includes lighting controls, occupancy tracking, audio visual devices, and more. One feature customers have consistently asked for has been an interactive floor plan. And Crestron was able to deliver.

“It’s clear that Building Information Modeling is the future of the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. At Crestron, we also see it as the future of building monitoring and control,” notes Doug Jacobson, Crestron Senior R&D Engineer. “With Fusion Site View, we’ve taken the first step towards realizing that goal.”

Exciting Capabilities

  • Convenient “Show Floors Above” and “Below” buttons that make it a snap to scan the entire building floor by floor. As organizations hover over rooms in the model, the room names pop up so it’s easy to find a nearby room.
  • Top, elevation, and isometric shortcut buttons that reset the view to a standard angle and zoom level.
  • Taking action based on live data collected by Crestron Fusion. There are built-in views for current light level, occupancy, and error conditions. And we give the user the ability to create custom views, allowing them to analyze and visualize their building as they see fit.
  • In addition to monitoring the building, Site View can be used to interact with the building as well. Simply select any room from the model, and then use the room detail dialog to turn lights on or off, or enable or disable occupancy sensors and photocells.

During the show, Crestron will also demonstrate its latest commercial lighting control solutions, design tools and services available to accomplish truly intelligent rooms and an integrated building.
