Crestron® Cable Retractors provide a convenient cable management solution for use with most Crestron FlipTops™. Using this solution, a user can simply reach into the FlipTop™ compartment and pull out any cable to the desired length. Each cable can be pulled out up to 3 feet (0.9 meter). A simple press of the easy-access lever retracts the cable back into the compartment.
Each Crestron Cable Retractor features a patent-pending mechanism that dampens the rate of retraction to prevent the cable from whipping as it's pulled back into the FlipTop storage compartment. The retraction speed is installer adjustable to ensure full and effortless retraction without excessive force.
Up to three, four, or six cable retractors can be installed depending on the FlipTop model (see specifications for quantity and compatibility). Spacer inserts are available to fill any unused positions.[1]
Cable retractors can be oriented in two possible positions. As standard, the retractors hang vertically from the bottom of the FlipTop box allowing them to be hidden in a pedestal leg or similar space directly beneath the FlipTop. Using the horizontal mounting option, the cable retractors can be attached to the underside of the tabletop. Both options eliminate any loose hanging cable loops below the table.
A 7 foot (2.1 meter) long tail is provided at the back-end of each cable retractor beneath the tabletop. This tail can be plugged into a wall plate or floor box, or connected to a DigitalMedia™ transmitter or similar interface device mounted under the table.
Five CBLR cable retractor models are currently offered. These include HDMI®, VGA, stereo audio, USB, and CAT5e. The CAT5e model can be used to provide an Ethernet LAN connection, and is also compatible with HDBaseT® and DigitalMedia 8G+™ digital AV interfaces.
