Converts Crestron Home® CAT5 balanced audio to RCA unbalanced audio.

The ABAR-1 is an active balanced-to-unbalanced audio converter designed to enable the connection of any Crestron Home® (CH) CAT5 Balanced Audio source to a conventional unbalanced stereo line-level input. It allows for extended wiring distances between the output of a “CH” compatible device, such as the Sonnex® Multiroom Audio Unamplified Expander (SWE-8), and the input of an amplifier or AV receiver.[1]

  1. For connection between two “CH” devices, use high-quality CAT5 (or better) unshielded twisted-pair cable. The maximum cable length is 500 ft (152 m). All wire and cables are sold separately. CH (Crestron Home) signal extension technology is not compatible with Crestron AUD-EXT, Sonnex Link, DigitalMedia™ (DM®), or other CATx based signal extension technologies.
